Mountain Village in the kingdom of Burnel has been beset by frequent attacks from the demon hordes for the past three years. The demonic military commander that leads these attacks, J’San J’San, has been living in the west of the kingdom disguised as a peddler. Scouring the lands in search of resources in order to strengthen his power, he accidentally serendipitously encountered the Mage Guard, the organization entrusted with protecting the king of Burnel. Shortly thereafter, an invasion of the demonic army wreaks havoc in the mountain village. At the request of the king, the Magister Guard proceeds to crush the resistance forces. In the process of doing so, the Magister Guard is viciously attacked by J’San. This act has an unforeseen effect on the fate of the kingdom. The original Magister Guard manages to escape from the burning village, but their leader, Agatar, was killed during the conflict. As a result, two new Magister Guard, Smen and Jey, were recruited into the formation. Smen, the first Magister Guard, who is an old man in his 60’s, had been charged with the task of protecting the king. Jey, the second Magister Guard, who is a young boy who has great excitement for battle, is set to protect the town of Burnel. The two Magister Guard lead their squad into the south-eastern region of the village to battle J’San, who follows them there. During the fight, the organization that the two Magister Guard represent attempts to forcibly raise a young hero to fight against the demon hordes.
An RPG-style video game called Soul Resonance started up the hype-fest recently, and it includes a number of science fiction fantasy themes. The game has you choosing your gender, customizing a character, making them enter their chosen path, picking up weapons, and heading out to the front line. Chemists have developed a method to chemically modify single atom-thick sheets of carbon atoms, mimicking the work of the biological world and opening up new opportunities for the development of new generation of chemicals.
“We would like to see our technique inspire the chemical community to look more closely at the area of carbon-based materials such as grapheme (single-atom thickness carbon sheets), fullerenes and nanotubes,” said Professor Emily King of the Australian Institute of Innovative Visualisation (AIVI) at the Australian National University.
“We believe this will eventually lead to new applications in energy storage and conversion, as well as the development of more efficient drugs and cosmetics.”
The research, published in Nature Chemistry, produced graphene-like sheets with over 98 per cent purity, which could be more readily engineered than the chemically-modified graphene produced by earlier research.
The latest techniques produced sheets of carbon atoms 12 nanometres (nm) across.
“While graphene is an amazing material that can be easily created, it can only be made at a very low yield. A better technique is needed to produce large quantities,” said Dr Alex Craig from CSIRO, who led the team.
