If you have any interest in the text-based strategy game known as Crusader Kings, you’ll enjoy this mod. Most of this mod’s features come from the mod “Indiaked”, however, the new features brought to CK2 by this mod have made it a far more enjoyable experience.
Crusader Kings IIis a fine strategy game based on the novels of the Game of Thrones universe. In this mod, the author has been allowed to extensively adapt game mechanics and features to the game while still creating a faithful adaptation to the novels. The development period of this mod can be divided into four phases, where we had a short discussion about each feature. Phase I (Uprising) was the first, where we discussed if the idea to add this particular feature to the mod was feasible. Phase II (Salvation) is focusing on the implementation of the feature, and Phase III (durance) is about testing the mod. Lastly, Phase IV (cicatrices) is dedicated to our character, which was part of the beginning stages of Phase II. (If you’ve been following along, hopefully you’ve figured this out already). Hopefully this description can clear some of the mystery out for you.
Crusader Kings II is a grand strategy game known for its complex diplomatic options. The War of the Five Kings in particular features many grand events, and this mod replicates this experience by allowing you to play as five kings at once. It has been a long time in the making.
Variations of the “Crusader Kings II All DLC” mod, which was more a reminder for users of the odd fact that the All DLC will be free once they get to release. No bundle, no nothing. They just decided to put it in there.
Over the course of about 300 hours, you’ll form a dynasty, lead your court, go through epic wars, pillage your enemies, meet and become friends with kings and queens, start a church, be beheaded, declare yourself king, sell off all your land, marry, die, and wait a century for your great-grandchildren to rule your land. Its design has a lot of depth and can be a bit of a fiddly time-sink, but it also has a lot of charm and is so steeped in history that it will really appeal to most fantasy RPG fans. The DLC expansion, The Hundred Years War, tells a sprawling story about the brutal French civil war of the 14th century, featuring major, historical characters from famous battles like the Battle of Agincourt. I didn’t have much patience for the length and complexity of the hundred years war DLC, but I was seduced by the great period piece that is the story of King John and the fall of the Capetian dynasty.
Whos in charge of this world? The strongest men on the battlefield, of course. In Crusader Kings II you get to be one of them. Make your way through the ranks and claim your throne. It doesnt take a political scientist to tell you that after the territories are divided up at the beginning of the game, your goal is to get your hands on as many of them as you can. No small feat, given the number of available options and sub-options. Eventually, of course, youll have to settle on one kingdom to lead. While the number of attempts is fixed at four, there are unsuccessful attempts of some of the territories on the list, which is, unfortunately, a common mistake.
