Sunny is about a mere cargo ship with a crew, a cargo, and some space pirates.
The player controls the vessel in real-time, using the directional keys to control the thrusters and the mouse to control the character and various passengers in third-person. The player cannot accelerate or decelerate the ship unless there is some kind of obstacle that needs to be avoided. Every so often, the player will get to explore three different sides of the ship, looking for different options and dealing with different event-causing objects.
The game consists of various activities, missions, and puzzles. Each of them has a defined task to perform, goal to achieve, and rewards to gain.
Challenges can be used to skip large parts of the game, and the score system acts as both a motivation and reward.
There are four main characters in the game. They were chosen after a long-standing decision process in which several different crew members were nominated, and votes were counted and tallied to determine the result.
The characters are:
Calamity Skaldriven – “The Skald” to his friends, Calamity has been in the role of first mate on the merchant vessel Solar Sails for decades, and his popularity with the crew is well known. His first is an ice mask made of scrap and broken glass that conceals a face of which he is very proud. He believes in chivalry, there should be some rules of conduct in space, and judging a person for their physical appearance is a bit above what would be suitable. His second is a small mechanical robot who keeps the ship clean, and is very protective of the Skald.
Skadi – The Skald’s first mate, Skadi is a hyena-like alien who spends much of her time under the captain’s table and ordering others around. Her race has been at war for millions of years, and she is very well informed on all the latest military techniques and armament that her fellow Outposters have won and lost during that time. She has no problems siding with the players.
Fisher Fourt – Fisher is the elder member of the ship’s engineering department, which is basically a bunch of seventeen-year-old high-school dropouts who rely on him to solve their problems. They call him “The Fisher”, and he loves it. He believes that if you fail to look for treasures, you’re a fool. He also believes that space pirates are the worst possible people in

INTRO: BEING A LITERARY REFORMER OR A TOUGH DOG?
And it hits me… that in this time where we live, we are “so bright and bombastic and so amazing, you can’t be a literate person.”
But the artistic revolution in literature, the political and social cultural revolutions, the media and art revolutions is in a very real and very complex way, changing the history of thought. Being the writer, activist and intellectual I am, it had never really occurred to me that I was “initiating” such revolution.
But here we are today.
The aging literary conservatives of literature and the literary “Instagram” types in literary magazines and social media criticise “literary” revolutionaries for “not knowing how to read”. When in fact the real revolution is ‘not knowing how to read’ in the first place.
If we truly desire to preserve culture, I believe we must reframe our concept of culture. We can’t preserve any old culture, and we can’t frame our concept of culture on a pyramid where literary is at the top and film is at the bottom of the pyramid. Our culture today is a hieroglyphic culture.
But for every critic of my work that tells me I’m too rough on literature and too hard on critics, I’ve got the Instagram novelists telling me they don’t understand the “artistic revolution” in literature.
This is nonsense.
The great writers of the past were intellectuals. Michel de Montaigne, (a French writer, lawyer, and politician) wrote as many as six books a day. (420 books in his lifetime). He mastered the writing craft by the age of 35, and lived in the 18th Century during a period when other writers were illiterate.

Prime Minister Enda Kenny and Taoiseach Enda Kenny met EU Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker in Dublin last week.
The Prime Minister and Mr Juncker spoke of the need for the EU and Eurozone to be “far more flexible” when considering austerity measures and social policy.
Speaking to RTÉ’s Morning Ireland, Ireland’s Commissioner for European Affairs Phil Hogan said the Prime Minister and Mr Juncker met and discussed matters including job losses in Ireland, Greece and elsewhere.
Mr Hogan said: “This commission under the French president, and in particular under its president is a pro-European commission. This commission is committed to renewal of the euro, it is committed to tackling the problems of the eurozone.
“I think it is the commission’s intention to have a comprehensive policy which is in line with its programme on jobs, growth and competitiveness.”
Mr Hogan says the Commission has been in touch with the Irish Government in recent months to discuss a number of areas.
He said the two men discussed a range of issues, including some of the challenges associated with our budgetary situation in the context of our position in the eurozone.
It is understood Mr Juncker will acknowledge the challenges the Irish economy faced in the past but that there is an understanding that Ireland is an “open economy” and that growth in Europe is now “far more flexible.”
He will also emphasise that there is a “real desire to help countries” in a time of intense pressures.
Some €6 billion of assistance – during the pre-programme period will be provided to Ireland during 2013 as it attempts to reduce its deficit to a manageable level.
Mr Hogan said Mr Juncker’s commitment to Ireland will be emphasised through an investigation into any “complaints” that might have been lodged against Ireland’s application.
