There are so many such interesting possibilities here. I wish Nigam and Mukerji had taken the risk of moving away from the usual format. I would have been much more interested in seeing a series of very different love stories, rather than the same premise being applied to six different characters. Salaam-E-Ishq is very close to being a “good” film, but at the very least, it could have been a great one.
Nargis is one of my favourite actresses and her latest film, SALAAM-E-ISHQ has definitely made an impact in my heart. Thats why i would not like to watch this movie. I definitely want to watch it but i think i will be able to watch it after a couple of months,when the colission has settled down.
I have loved Nargis for 25 years now and I am surprised that her first role in a film would be so bad. I dont understand why the writers of this film who has been directed by Pankaj Kapur have chosen Nargis to enact this character. Will you give Salaam-e-Ishq to a friend who has not seen the film? Not if I want it back in my DVD collection. I would give it to someone who has not seen it, yes.
Dilip Kumar is not a bad actor. On the contrary, he is a very good actor. He has been a favourite of mine since I was a kid. People used to call me Dilip Kumar after him. Even my favourite Hindi movie is “Babumathi”. Now coming back to the movie. Salaam-e-Ishq is not Salaams worst. In fact, it might not even be Salaams best. Its the worst kind of flim which does not work.
Salaam-e-Ishq is an old one. It was premiered as a part of the International Film Festival of India. It was showcased and then released a few months later. Now, its getting released on Bollywood Hungama website. It makes me feel sad because the makers could have better polished the movie.
